The Mdrill One Pro comes complete with a wide range of polar patterns. Below is a brief explanation of how each one can be beneficial to you!
Cardioid - The cardioid polar pattern is found in many industry-standard microphones. In fact, some microphones only feature this pattern! There's good reason why it's so popular. When used, the pattern provides you with a tight focused sound of your source, with incredible off-axis rejection of undesirable noise and ambience. You're best using this pattern when you want to achieve highly-usable results in noisy environments. This ensures that you'll be the centre of attention at all times!
Stereo - Thanks to the Stereo preset you're essentially getting a matched pair of microphones compacted into one. This is perfect for phase coherent recordings, minimising the risk of issues such as comb filtering. You'll find this preset particularly useful for the capture of overheads, acoustic guitars, orchestras, choirs, pianos and percussion.
Omni-directional - Omnidirectional is a fantastic choice when you want your recordings to sound wholly natural. Thanks to its 360 degree pick-up range, it is capable of capturing every last nuance of the environment you're recording in with an incredible degree of accuracy. The lack of proximity effect also enables you to get up-close to your source without worrying about introducing excessive levels of bass.
Proprietary Vertigain technology
Designed to enhance the audio performance for streamers, gamers and broadcasters, Vertigain Technology lets you enjoy a crystal clear audio fidelity within the vocal range. As the MDRILL One Pro is built with three cascading condenser capsules, each part of the frequency range is evenly distributed, allowing for a balanced and well-rounded sound. These capsules are powered by Vertigain technology to help improve the overall audio fidelity by up to 10 when compared to traditional USB microphones.
