Dynamically remove harsh frequencies
Often when mixing or mastering a track, source tones of instruments may sound just the way you want them to in isolation, but when brought into a mix with other instruments, can sometimes be overbearing and unpleasant. This can be from a range of factors including the transient response, the presence of any resonant frequencies or simply spikey upper harmonics. Where other tools such as EQ can be useful, they are a static attenuation of a targetted frequency range and will often alter the tone of your recording. DeEdger solves all of these downfalls of other typical production methods by using intelligent dynamic algorithms that automatically move with your music.
Hone in on a specific frequency range using the Focus Listen control, allowing you to isolate the problem area more accurately and then adjust the Q-factor to widen the curve of the processing. Then using the depth control, you are able to dynamically adjust the character of the chosen range, whether that's removing harsh lower resonances in the low-mids, adjusting the mid-range transient of a percussion element such as drums or even taming the upper harmonics of a distorted electric guitar. Where DeEdger shines, is in the details, cranking the depth all the way to maximum continues to deliver a transparent audio experience, maintaining the original tone of your audio.
For added flexibility, DeEdger comes with a Compensate dial, which automatically boosts the levels of the attenuated frequency range dynamically, ensuring that even at a maximum reduction, the gain level remains constant.
Designed with musicality in mind
Designed primarily for mastering engineers, the DeEdger is a must-have tool for any budding producer or engineer. Providing a simple yet essential function, DeEdger enables you to smoothen out harsh resonances, frequency peaks and transients of user-targeted frequency ranges. Upon opening, you are met with a streamlined interface that's intuitive and easy to use with familiar parameters. Similar to a single EQ band, you are presented with a frequency range, Q-factor and depth control. This is where the similarities end, as DeEdger is built with intelligent processing that goes beyond the capabilities of static EQ. Unlike static EQ, DeEdger dynamically reduces transients and overbearing frequencies and moves with your music to ensure that the overall timbre and tone is not altered, maintaining the musicality. Built for processing complex signals, OD DeEdger is ideal for use on a single channel, group of instruments of even a master bus.
Perfect for a wide range of instruments, DeEdger is ideal for reducing the harshness of a sawtooth synth lead, spikey vocal performance, harsh transients from a slap bass guitar, distorted electric guitar and much more. Much like many hardware units the controls are stepped, helping you to make quick decisions with fewer parameters to dive into. However for more fine control, particularly over the depth rating, DeEdger can be used freehand for more precise adjustments. All of this presented in a low CPU format means that no matter how large your session is, you can load several instances of the plug-in without straining the processing power of your computer.
