Key Features
The DPA 2011C Twin Diaphragm Condenser Microphone is as versatile as it is powerful. Perfect for instruments and vocals alike, you'll capture every nuance of your sound source with sparkling clarity. The bespoke twin-diaphragm condenser ensures maximum accuracy across an extended frequency response (20Hz -20kHz). That means rich lows, detailed highs, and pronounced mids whether you're on stage or in the studio.
Total focus on what's important. The 2011C reduces ambient noise and feedback with a cardioid polar pattern. Advanced interference tube technology provides tight directionality, so even when you're performing in noisy environments you'll still capture those all important details. Add to that beautifully organic sonic character from DPA's MMP-C preamplifier, and you've got class-leading clarity for every sound source.
All from a compact microphone that helps you get the best from every scenario. Its small, lightweight chassis is ideal for transport, storage, and close miking applications where space is a premium. What's more, the innovative modular design lets you upgrade and tailor your microphone, so you'll always get the best from your recording sessions.

Phenomenal audio performance and world-class innovation. DPA's powerful twin-diaphragm capsule consists of two miniature capsules custom-rebuilt inside the mic into a single-capsule composition. With a larger diaphragm area, the 2011C boasts lower inherent noise and a rapid impulse response. A large frequency bandwidth also helps to achieve a well-balanced, distinctive and accurate recording.
The MMP-C combines an ultra-compact and lightweight design with DPA's legendary sonic performance. Boasting a slightly softer character and a little more low-end body than the other DPA pencil microphone preamplifiers, the MMP-C features a low-cut at 15Hz with a wide dynamic range of 136dB. This handy preamp allows you to get the best out of your DPA 2011C microphone with ease thanks to DPA's intelligent modular system.
The cardioid polar pattern is perfect for vocal applications - with more sensitivity at the front of the microphone and significantly less at the sides and rear, a cardioid pattern reduces the capture of ambient noise and unwanted sound sources. This powerful pattern is ideal for live performances, be it music or spoken-word. The narrow angle of sensitivity minimizes bleed from other sources, capturing only what you want to be heard. DPA's unique capsule design prevents any colourization of the sound from the sides or rear with outstanding off-axis rejection, creating a perfect and organic sound stage for your performance.
"What strikes me first of all is how small the body is and thus placement in tight places is made a lot easier. In my opinion where the 2011C really excels is as a spot mic for prominent cymbals, namely the hi-hat and ride" - Gearslutz
"The DPA 2011C is an excellent performer and excelled in a wide variety of applications. It sits well below the 1k range and you can easily upgrade your setup by buying a higher-end DPA body, or another capsule or two. I experienced it on two separate occasions where I was drawn into the musical performance and forgot the tech—and that is priceless." - Mix Online
"For piano and guitar, they presented a focused portrait of each instrument’s sonic intricacy that was truly satisfying to listen to — again and again." - Everything Audio Network
