CME Xkey LE 37-Key USB Keyboard Overview

The CME Xkey LE 37-Key USB Keyboard features an ultra-slimline design with a 37-note full-sized keybed designed for musicians at home or on the go. It features everything you'd expect from a MIDI keyboard with the addition of being able to customise and configure your keyboard (using the Xkey Plus application). It also features onboard 'smart buttons' which allow you to trigger octave changes, pitch bend, modulation and sustain functions.

Its compact size and USB-powered design make the Xkey LE highly portable and perfect for music producers on the move. The sleek aluminium body features the same finish as a MacBook - perfect for those who wish to coordinate their music production setups. It also offers 100 percent MIDI compatibility meaning you can use the Xkey with all your favourite software, apps and devices.

Whilst the keyboard fits the aesthetic and style of a MacBook, the Xkey LE is suitable for virtually any device from PCs to tablets. It also features polyphonic aftertouch which allows you to control individual effects with varying pressure. The pitch bend and modulation buttons are also pressure-sensitive for added expression.

Smart buttons and polyphonic aftertouch

Equipped with a velocity-sensitive keybed, the Xkey LE provides exceptional expression options, allowing you to play loud with one hand whilst playing soft with the other. With 128 levels of sensitivity, you can capture every nuance of your playing style while you perform. Not only that, but the Polyphonic Aftertouch means you can control the effect on an individual level depending on much pressure you apply to the keys.

One of the most unique features of the Xkey LE are the onboard ‘Smart Buttons’. The buttons are dedicated to different functions including Octave Change, Pitch Bend, Modulation and Sustain. The Pitch Bend and Modulation buttons are also pressure-sensitive so you can add further expression to your performances with continuous MIDI control data. It is also 100 percent MIDI compliant, meaning you can use it with virtually any music software/app or device.

Customisable keyboard and firmware updates

Downloading the free Xkey LE application opens up new configuration options so you can customise your keyboard to how you like it. You can get in-depth with your settings, allowing you to adjust the keyboard's sensitivity, assign keys to different functions, customise the polyphonic aftertouch and much more. You can also update your firmware when needed via the USB connection, making upgrading easier than ever.
