Springs without the hassle
Ensuring ultimate tweakability, ReCoil comes with a huge range of customisability to find the perfect spring sound for your mix. Choose between one and three springs at any one time, adding exciting interpolation between the parameters for unique reverb tones. If that wasn't enough, ReCoil includes a four-band, gain-compensated EQ to sculpt and shape your wet signal to suit any mixing aesthetic. A high-pass filter, midrange, brightness and low-pass filter control are provided, helping you sculpt the entire frequency range to create a focused and precise sound.
More than just musical springs
Providing you with the full gamut of spring reverb tones, ReCoil houses much more than just one spring reverb. Boz has included detailed spring tones ranging from random springs found on miscellaneous items, toy slinkies, door stops, toy microphones, the slap of a ruler and even includes all of them inside one preset. Each presenting a highly-unique and unusual tone, ReCoil makes it easy to add an interesting ambience to virtually any sound source in your mix.
Customisable, each spring type can include up to three springs simultaneously. Not simply a static combination, but the more springs added, the more each spring interacts with each other in exciting and pleasing ways.
Algorithmic or convolution
A best of both worlds, ReCoil encompasses both algorithmic reverbs for maximum control over your parameters and tweakbility as well as impulse-based reverbs for ultimate realism. Traditionally spring reverbs will only provide one or the other, severely lacking authenticity when it comes to producing life-like spring reverbs or lacking the flexibility to customise your sound to fit your mix style.
Captured using premium equipment in 96kHz sampling rate, the convolution impulses are ultra-accurate and sound fantastic. Employing an internal 64-bit signal path, you'll never need to worry about the sound quality or clipping of your convolution impulses, maintaining a crystal clear sound, every time.
Give your reverb some space
Where traditional hardware spring reverb tanks are mono, it restricts your creative potential. With ReCoil, Boz offers multiple stereo configurations to create an ultra-wide, spacious and natural reverb sound. Utilising all three springs simultaneously, ReCoil includes panning for each spring independently. The more springs you add, the more stereo imaging you have, simple! Using only a single spring will deliver a mono sound, two produce a wide stereo sound whereas using all three creates an LCR effect for maximum realism and width. You can further control the stereo image using the Width control which uses an internal crossover which adjusts in relation to the stereo field for maximum transparency and phase coherence.
