Sounds Better with Age
A solid top ensures your guitar will sound better with age. The more you play, the more the tone opens up and grows over time. A solid thermal spruce top delivers a broad dynamic range, with a clear, strong, and versatile response. This means you can play a wide variety of genres and techniques with ease. A truly dynamic sound.
Furthermore, with solid sapele back and sides, this guitar really does deliver a distinctive, rich, and heart-warming tone. Solid sapele has emphasis in the mid-range with airy, bright trebles, and a powerful punch. It has a well-balanced tone that is consistent and full. The stunning blend of timber gives the CRN-TS1 a dynamic sound that's perfect for almost any genre or playing style. Versatility is truly at your fingertips.
A Sound of Days Gone By...
Takamine's thermal top brings you an authentic sound, and an appearance to match. In addition, thanks to a special process, you receive the sought after sound of vintage acoustics. A process called 'torrefaction' involves the desired piece of tonewood being heated in a vacuum. This releases water and decomposes any resin within the wood.
The result, a light, hard, and stable piece of timber - just like vintage tonewoods that have dried for decades. Thermally aged wood delivers a spectacular response with superb volume. It also allows the guitar to deliver a full-bodied low-end, and smooth sustain from the treble strings. It will deliver the common characteristics of vintage guitars.
Big Sound, Versatile Response
A full, rich, and distinctive sound. The Takamine CRN-TS1 has a slope-shoulder dreadnought body, allowing you to achieve a big, bold sound with a delicate, versatile response. Loud and proud, this stunning Takamine Dreadnought is perfect for anyone craving a big acoustic sound. And with Takamine's meticulous attention to detail, the CRN-TS1's sonic-footprint is just simply out of this world. Play blues, country, rock, pop, and much more. Explore a wide variety of techniques and experience the richly-authentic sound of a pre-war era guitar.
Simply Stunning Live Performance
Take to the stage. Equipped with CT-4BII electronics, live performance is as simple as 'plug-in and play'. Whether you're heading to the stage, studio, or just a comfortable jam in your own home, the CRN-TS1 is ready. Tune up or down on-the-go thanks to an on-board tuner than can be used either when plugged-in, or when performing acoustically. You can easily tweak your tone too, just adjust the low, mid, and high sliders to find the live sound that you desire.
Authentic Playability, Modern Feel
Constructed from mahogany, the neck has a quick and dynamic response with plenty of warmth, and added resonance. It is designed with vintage guitars in mind. The result is a neck with familiar, authentic playability, and a slimmer, modern feel. Additionally, to keep inline with its vintage-vibe, the CRN-TS1 Dreadnought has a slotted headstock. This not only provides a stunning aesthetic appeal, but puts more physical tension on the nut. From this, your strings are certain to ring with extra clarity.
