The Gretsch G9230 Bobtail Deluxe Resonator marks a return to the original resonator designs, providing you with a loud acoustic instrument perfect for bluegrass lap-style slide. This model features a square backed neck and is intended to be used for lap-style slide playing. Equipped with a Fishman Nashville pickup, you can plug in and use those same tones in a live setting. The G9230 Bobtail has been crafted with a flat square profile in order to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. Topped with a semi-gloss finish, this resonator allows for smooth transitions along the neck. Its perfection doesn't stop at the neck though, it stretches down to the body as well. Designed with F-holes and traditional features, the G9230 wouldn't look out-of-place from many decades ago in the Mississippi delta, providing you with authentic and powerful tones.
This model comes designed with the Gretsch Ampli-Sonic cone diaphragm, which has been hand-spun in Eastern Europe from 99 percent pure aluminium. Thanks to this, you are provided with the resonator's distinct metallic overtones and delta-blues sound. Mounted to a mahogany body, this design is sure to impress your audience with a sweet quality of tone at cutting volumes. When combined with the mahogany neck and katalox fingerboard, you are provided with an additional sustain and dark resonance.
