Schecter's Apocalypse range of instruments feature distressed designs alongside super high-output pickups for a destructive tone and "zombie movie" looks. The PT Apocalypse has had the same signature treatment and your audience will be convinced that it's made it through the end of the world and lived to tell the tale - albeit with a sinister apocalyptic tonality and aesthetic.
The PT Apocalypse is loaded with dual Schecter USA Apocalypse-VI™ humbuckers for a crushing tone that is perfect for rock and metal. The pickups merge alnico-v magnets with dual flanking ceramic-8s to produce a balanced yet aggressive tone. They have a crushing mid-range with a tight and focused response and are ideal for down-tuned riffs, providing great clarity when the pitch reaches ground-shaking low-levels.
The pickups are wired to a versatile 3-way switch with a push/pull tone pot and master volume control. The push/pull switch gives access to cleaner single coil tones when you wish to create a more subtle and nuanced sound.
The PT Apocalypse's neck has a no-compromise specification to allow easy shredding and low-end riffing. The frets are extra-jumbo sized for excellent grip on the strings when playing wild bends and vibrato. The fingerboard has a 12''-16'' compound radius which gives the perfect balance of playing comfort at the low-frets (with a rounder radius) and easy playability at the top-frets (where the radius is flatter).
The neck is bolted to the body with a sculpted joint for easy high-fret access and the ebony fingerboard delivers a smooth playing surface for riffing and soloing. The neck is crafted with a thin 'C' profile to sit comfortably in the left hand. The PT's neck provides no barriers to playing any technique and is the ideal platform for playing technically challenging music.
A fixed bridge and locking tuners make the PT Apocalypse the ideal instrument for low-tuned metal and extreme riffing. The fixed-bridge design has minimal moving parts and is a solid platform for remaining in tune, no matter how aggressive your performance becomes.
The PT Apocalypse has a bright and resonant swamp ash body, visible through the distressed natural finish. The neck is maple for increased high-end response and the ebony fingerboard gives excellent low-end articulation. The guitar is finished in natural satin for a tactile feel that shows off the striking wood grain underneath.
The grey body and rust-effect pickguard make the PT Apocalypse look like it's survived a nuclear fall-out. The glow-in-the-dark side dot markers enhance the 'nuclear' aesthetic, as does the 12th fret hazard-triangle inlay. If you're looking for a distinct guitar that sounds as destructive as it looks, the PT Apocalypse will be the perfect instrument for your gig bag.... or perhaps your apocalypse survival kit.
