Created in the '50s and never bested, the P-90 and its unique sound and quality have persisted through the ages, becoming a staple with rock and punk bands. This dog-ear P-90 has a unique bark with rich upper-mid harmonics that will permeate any mix. Combined with the unique attack from the wraparound bridge, it's no wonder why P-90s are mainstays with guitarists. This is the Gibson SG Jr - you don't need anything more.
Originally introduced in '61 as the budget equivalent of the SG Standard, the Jr is nowhere near as common as its older sibling. And that's exactly what makes it so special. Due to its different parts and iconic P-90, it caught the attention of players like Angus Young (AC/DC), Noddy Holder (Slade), and Charlotte Hatherly (Ash). But that doesn't mean it can't be a beautiful sonic tool for you. If you're looking for a new sound, look no further.
Unique to hold. The SG differentiates itself from most guitars because of its unique neck and feel. It has a slim taper neck with a 12" radius fretboard that was originally said to be the fastest in the world! Although things have changed since then, it's still incredibly quick and tremendously comfortable - right up to the very last fret.
A finish that will always develop. The nitrocellulose lacquer on the SG Jr ages with you. The more you play, it'll gain a beautiful, worn-in look over time. Being able to see the history of your own experiences worn into the body is a gratifying experience. And although it's not the most important element of the guitar, it does make it uniquely personal to you.
