A perfect drumming introduction
Whether it's an after-school hobby or the start of a long career behind the kit, the Digital Drums 200 Junior Electronic Drum Kit is the perfect starting point for enthusiastic, young drummers. Its colour-coded drum pads and cymbals help to differentiate between specific parts of the kit, making learning fun and engaging.
The JDD200 is a drum kit designed to grow with the player. Thanks to its adjustable, ergonomic design, it is suitable for children ranging from infants to pre-teens. Guaranteeing years of drumming education before your child decides to move on to a full-size kit.
The benefits of mesh head drum pads
Where most beginner electronic kits utilise rubber for the drum pad heads, the JDD200's drum pads are all mesh. This profile provides realistic stick response and bounce, much more akin to the drum skins you'd find on an acoustic drum set. Helping the learner to become better-acquainted with the feel and dynamics of a full-sized drum kit - not to mention they're much quieter! With minimal disruption to others, it’s ideal for use at home after a day at school. All the pads are touch sensitive, meaning that they will play as loud as you hit them. Soft touches will be quiet, Full bodied hits will be matched with a robust, louder sound.
Compact, foldaway design
The JDD200's compact frame makes it well-suited for home use either in a bedroom, garage or another designated practice space. The kit's spatial footprint can be reduced even further for easy storage, given its practical, foldaway design. When set up, the kit is less than a metre high and approximately 75cm wide. Folded up, its height is reduced to around 80cm, while its depth is a mere 30cm. And weighing just over 7kg, you’ll have no trouble moving it around the house.
This design also makes the kit highly portable - perfect for transporting it elsewhere for lessons or for a jam with school friends. In just a few simple steps, the kit can be assembled and ready to use. They’ll be drumming in no time!
The control module - a useful learning ally
With 31 unique drum kits, 44 songs and a versatile metronome tool, the JDD200 has everything a beginner needs to learn the principles of drumming. As the player grows in confidence, the metronome's tempo can be increased to accommodate faster performance. Or for concentrated practice on a specific beat or fill, simply slow it down to nail the part. With a simple, user-friendly interface, the JDD200's control module is an excellent ally for the start of any beginner's drumming journey.
In addition to the headphone input, the JDD200 also has left and right MONO outputs which can be used for connecting and amplifying the kit through an amp or PA. Ideal for full-volume practice when the neighbours are away!
The USB port allows for USB-MIDI connectivity with a computer, meaning you can hook the kit up to VSTs and recording software to capture your performance, along with 3rd party learning software. The LINE IN input lets you play along with your own music from a laptop or MP3 player.
These features and more are explained in greater detail in the included manual.
