The Promark Forward 5A ActiveGrip Clear Acorn Drumsticks are high quality drum sticks from Promark, featuring their patented heat activated ActiveGrip coating. The sticks are constructed from American Hickory, the most popular wood used in drum sticks due to its incredible resilience and durability, as well as its responsiveness and classic feel. The sticks feature a forward stick balance which brings the centre of gravity forward. This provides additional power and speed, allowing for faster, more aggressive strikes with additional attack. The sticks feature a reinvented acorn tip, providing responsiveness and articulation due to the larger sweet-spot and the increased amount of contact the tip makes with the drum head. This coating is engineered to get tackier as a player's hands sweat and their body temperature warms up the sticks. The coating is applied as a thin coating, much like a traditional drum stick lacquer. The coating adds no additional weight or dimensions to the drum sticks, keeping the weight and feel as natural as possible whilst adding an incredible amount of extra grip. Unlike most drum stick grip alternatives, Promark's ActiveGrip does not give blisters or tear up a players hands or cause restrictions whilst playing.

ActiveGrip Coating

The Promark ActiveGrip drum sticks feature the ActiveGrip heat activated solution that's engineered to get tackier as the player's hands produce more sweat and moisture. Instead of making your hands slippy and moist, the sticks take in the moisture and provide a better grip. The thin lacquer adds no weight or diameter to the stick, so you can play with confidence, knowing that you can have a long lasting and tight grip on your sticks.

About Promark

Promark was founded in 1957 by percussion instructor and shop owner Herb Brochstein in Houston, Texas. It was the first company to introduce Japanese Shira-Kashi white oak into the American market, and the only company to successfully market oak sticks in the United States. The wood for Promark is supplied by Japanese trader Tatsuo Kosaka. In recent years, Promark has moved to use of non-endangered wood and a ''green'' finishing process to make their sticks and manufacturing processes safer to the player and the environment.
