The Polyend POLY Module is a euroack polyphonic MIDI to CV converter that is MPE compatible and comes equipped with a variety of inputs allowing you to connect up your computer, smartphone or tablet through the USB port, class compliant MIDI controllers via USB host, and all other devices through the MIDI DIN port. The POLY module features 3 modes; first, next, and channel. First and next modes are designed for playing eurorack synths with an external controller. An array of analog inputs allow you to connect up a wide range of modules with eight rows of gate, pitch, velocity, and modulation to let you freely control synth and drum voices.

First and next modes are designed for playing eurorack synths with an external controller. These modes use an automated gate recognition system. In first mode when you press a key from your MIDI device you get an output from the first available voice that is plugged in and if that note is then held the next one runs from the next available voice. When you release it will automatically go back to the top. First mode allows you to trigger one module when you first press a key on an external controller and while you are still pressing it you can then trigger a second note from the next connected synth, ideal for triggering a bass note with the first key press and a lead with the second. Whereas in next mode the POLY looks for the next available voice rather than the first top one, so it is always scrolling to the next one. This mode allows you to trigger the same note across all connected synthesizers. Essentially, this is what polyphonic synths do as they scroll through the 8 voices.
Channel mode is ideal for feeding a MIDI sequence from your DAW. Channel mode works by translating the data received from MIDI channels 1-8 directly into the corresponding CV channels. So whatever you are playing on your MIDI channel comes out of the first output of the module. Also on the back of the POLY is a DIP switch allowing you to choose between channels 1-8 or notes C-G that are directed to corresponding CV voices. This is ideal for when you want to utilise MIDI notes rather than channels.
