Four Analog Noise Circuits

The NS-4 Eurorack Module is ideal for sound design applications, providing four analog noise outputs spanning the spectrum for versatile noise generation. The NS-4 is perfect for creating a variety of tones and noises, from harsh, raw white noise to red noise and everything in-between. The four noise generator signal outputs are comprised of S/H (sample and hold), White, Pink and Red. The S/H output generates a random signal which can be controlled by two voltage controlled parameters, with the Rate and Lag controls. White noise is the full audio bandwidth noise generator, whereas the Pink and Red noise outputs are filtered versions of the White noise.

In-Depth Control

There are five attenuators in total, providing precise control over the main parameters of your noise generator. The five attenuators include: S/H Rate, S/H Lag, Rate CV, S/H CV and Ext S/H level. The Rate attenuator controls the slew rate of the S/H signals, ranging from 0.1Hz – 1000Hz. The outgoing signal is then filtered by a voltage controlled LP filter with a 12dB/octave slope for added tonal character. The S/H Rate and S/H lag can be controlled via the manual knob or by external signals using the Rate CV and Lag CV controls. The rate generator can be synced by the external signal to take on any shape.

Measuring at only 10HP in width, the NS-4 Noise Generator provides a small footprint for its powerful noise generation capabilities.
