The Crane Stand was initially crafted of powder-coated steel, the mobile laptop stand was first released in 2008 in Seattle and received an overwhelmingly positive response from the music community.

The Crane Laptop Stand Story began in the SoDo district of Seattle, when in 2007 2 designers were chatting about the lack of quality adjustable laptop stands on the market. Soon they had sketches of ideas for a foldable laptop stand that would withstand the wear and tear of the mobile and club dj. Another friend and associate, a master welder and craftsman was drafted in and together the three began working on the very first Crane Stand.
