Loaded with a pair of Ceramic Single Coil Jazz Bass pickups, the Squier Contemporary Jazz Bass produces that classic Fender tone. The pickups provide excellent projection, with good clarity and plenty of low-end depth. For enhanced versatility, there are two Volume controls and a Master Tone, providing players with many tonal shaping options.
The Squier Jazz Bass' body is crafted from poplar, delivering a high frequency response, as well as an overall light tone with sparkling highs. Poplar is a soft tonewood and therefore offers a mellowed tone with some warmer lows. It is a lightweight tonewood and therefore provides a comfortable guitar that can be wielded all night long.
The neck is made from maple, which provides bright tones with plenty of twang, as well as excellent levels of sustain. Paired with a laurel fingerboard, this Contemporary Jazz Bass yields mellow tones with excellent warmth and good depth.
The Fender Jazz Bass was the second model of electric bass created by Fender. This bass guitar is often described as being different from its other famous counterpart, the Precision Bass, because of its brighter tone and richer midrange and treble. This is often quoted as being the reason it's the choice of many bass players the world over.
Many of today's most well known Jazz Bass Guitar players are linked with Squier Bass Guitars. Boasting names like Marcus Miller, Squire by Fender Jazz Bass Guitars are the choice of generations of Bass Players and are likely to be for many years to come.
