The Squier Jazzmaster has a striking asymmetrical body with deep cutaways to provide easy access to the upper frets. The solid basswood tonewood offers a powerful midrange with excellent dynamics and definition, letting you create fat, well balanced tones with plenty of power behind it. The basswood also provides the guitar with a lightweight feel, allowing you to play for hours without straining your shoulders.
The maple neck is shaped to Fender’s slender modern C profile, providing a comfortably smooth play across the entire fingerboard. The bound laurel fingerboard offers an excellent sustain, while the 21 medium jumbo frets and pearloid block inlays create a stunning look. The 30" scale length is longer than your average electric guitar neck, giving you plenty of room for soloing while allowing the thicker baritone strings to remain under tension so they can resonate fully and keep their full tone.
The Vintage Modified Baritone Jazzmaster is fitted with a pair of Duncan Designed JM-101N and JM-101B single coil soapbar pickups with Alnico 5 magnets in the neck and bridge positions. These powerful magnets guarantee a smooth output at any volume, whilst offering powerful tones that can cut through the mix. The master tone control allows you to shape the output for both pickups, and a 3-position toggle switch can be used to switch between pickups.
Featuring a carefully fitted synthetic bone nut, the Vintage Modified Jazzmaster delivers an increased resonance and bright tonality. When compared to traditional plastic and Tusq materials used to construct guitar nuts, synthetic bone improves the vibration transfer between the string and tuning machines without dampening the tone.
