Known for his huge bass tones the worldover, Mike Starr was a pioneering force within the Seattle grunge movement as an original member of band Alice of Chains. Before his untimely passing in 2011 he and PJ Rubal of Spector were working on the Euro 4LX Signature bass model, as it was one of Mike's dreams to design and then own a signature Spector bass model.
After his passing PJ Rubal was approached by Starr's family to complete the model that was previously being designed. In completing their request PJ Rubal produced a formidable and unique bass that acknowledges the late musician's distinctive sound and playing style.
Equipped with a Maple body that is coated in white gloss, the guitar's striking appearance is matched only by its formidable sound and powerful tones. The Euro 4LX Signature's pickups are fixed to Spector's TonePump preamp, meaning massive and distinctive tones are at the user's immediate disposal. The controls include separate volume knobs for each pickup, treble boost, bass boost, and an internal output trim pot, enabling the user to fine tune their own distinctive tone.
