The Epiphone Explorer series electric guitars are without a doubt one of the most striking shapes of electric guitar the world had ever seen. When it was released to an unsuspecting public in 1958 as part of the Gibson's Modernist Series. Players of the day just couldn't handle it, and very few late-'50s Explorers were produced. Fast-forward to the 70s and 80s, and the revived Gibson Explorer quickly re-established itself as one of the most iconic electric guitars of the rock and metal scenes.
Since then many have tried to copy it, but Epiphone's authentic 58 Korina Explorer captures the magic of this incredible design. Light-weight and rich-sounding real Korina wood, gold hardware and Alnico Classic and Classic Plus pickups make this guitar beautiful in sound and appearance.
To this day the Explorer is still highly regarded by heavier players throughout the rock and metal scenes, it's been seen played on stages the world over by the likes of Kiss's Paul Stanley, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl , U2's The Edge and recently in the animated hands of Dethklok on the Metalocalypse series.
