Why is the SE DGT special?

David Grissom’s signature model has finally come to the PRS SE line. Based on the highly popular model from the Core line (the result of over 20 years of collaboration between Paul and Grissom), this brand-new SE brings you the refined hardware and specifications of Grissom at a much more affordable price point.

What’s unique about the SE DGT?

Compared to a normal SE McCarty, the DGT is loaded with a special DGT neck carve, taller frets, unique pickups and a special control layout to mimic Grissom’s playing style.

Exceptional vintage pickups

Voiced to David’s specifications. These PRS DGT “S” pickups have everything a lover of vintage tone needs. They boast a refined, medium level output that’s able to bark on crunchy settings and purr on cleans. They’re fat and chunky without becoming muddy, so you can crank up the fuzz and gain for lead settings without sacrificing any clarity.

If that wasn’t enough, PRS have made them both coil splitable so you can instantly access the sweet chime of single coils. In concert with the 3-way pickup selector switch, there’s an almost endless palette of sonics the DGT “S” pickups can create.

Incredibly smooth playability

Just as you’d expect from PRS. The DGT SE brings Grissom’s favoured playing shape to the McCarty model with its highly comfortable DGT neck carve. It allows for completely comfortable fretting, whether you’re strumming complex chords near the nut or unleashing free flowing solos further up the scales.

And with the DGT SE’s taller frets on the 12” radius, you’ll enjoy a precise action that helps you articulate each note. Not only that, but you push string bends to the extreme for a truly expressive performance.
