Unlike other distortion pedals on the market, the Dark Blood Distortion delivers an angry, tube-like distortion that is perfect for metal guitarists out there. This powerful pedal was co designed by Kirk Hammett of Metallica, and is especially designed with the metal guitarist in mind. With its rich and articulate tones, the Dark Blood can provide the main tone into your clean amp, can be used as a fly rig, or a backup to an amp or modeling rig.
Control Options
The Dark Blood Distortion features a basic layout with an easy-to-use interface with control options for Gain, Volume, Doom and Treble to shape your tone. Gain controls the amount of gain in the circuit and when used at a lower setting delivers a sensitive tone with excellent dynamics that picks up all the nuances of your playing style. When used at a higher setting, you can achieve a massively overdriven tone that is perfect for playing heavy metal. Volume simply controls the output volume of the pedal, depending on user preference. When using the Doom control you can alter the pre-distortion equalization which determines the amount of low-end grunt present in your tone. Finally, the Treble control is a passive, natural sounding low-pass filter which cuts high end and delivers a wide frequency range. Treble can also be dialed to achieve a raw, aggressive tone that cuts through any mix.
LO/HI toggle Switch
In addition to its four control knobs, the Dark Blood Distortion also includes a LO/HI toggle switch, which offers two steps of gain. The LO setting is ideal for playing rhythms, while the HI setting adds saturation, sustain and compression, and is perfect for solos.
Rugged Structure
The Dark Blood Distortion is housed in a durable metal chassis that protects the internal components against moisture, and wear and tear. Its classic footswitch design also features jacks at the top which maximises space on your pedalboard, allowing you to fit more pedals alongside each other. It simple design offers user-friendly operation, and is the perfect choice for beginners.
