Trade in your JAM Pedals Rooster Booster Pedal with Gear4music. If you’re looking to refine your tone or explore different boost options, trading in your Rooster Booster could be a great move. This pedal provides a vintage-inspired treble boost, but if you're after more tonal flexibility or a broader range of boost options, it might be time for an upgrade. Consider moving to a multi-band EQ boost pedal or one with more advanced controls to suit your evolving sound.

The pedal offers an incredibly simplistic design, with one knob to control the level, and a toggle switch to flick between treble, mids, and bass. As a vintage style treble booster, the Rooster can produce the legendary boosted tones often heard from artists such as Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher, Brian May, and many others. Designed using tropical fish capacitors and carbon-comp resistors to produce vintage sounds, the JAM pedal is a powerful device with a simplistic design. At the heart of the pedal lies the extremely rare CV7003, military-spec OC44 germanium transistor for excellent consistency and heat resistance. Each transistor is measured for gain and leakage, then matched through sound audition to achieve the best sound possible.
JAM Pedals are a manufacturer of boutique analogue guitar and bass pedals from Greece. Each pedal is built by hand, made from the highest materials on the market along with rare NOS chips, specially selected matched NOS transistors, and Carbon comp resistors. The pedals are also given hand-painted finishes for a visually stunning aesthetic, and true-bypass switching to ensure the pedal won’t affect your tone when not in use.
Using a battery (recommended): It is best to use a carbon zinc 9v battery (not alkaline or lithium) as it looses its power gradually making the pedal sound warmer and fuzzier. If you want to have your pedal mounted on a pedal board and keep it plugged in at all times without draining the battery’s life, you can use the small DC plug provided on the power jack, every time you’re not playing.
9v Boss-type power supply (tip negative): This circuit uses positive ground. Therefore you cannot connect this pedal to any type of chained power supply linked with other common DC-powered pedals, unless the power supply unit features separate isolated DC outputs, into which you can plug the Rooster
The 3rd option is to use a 9v chained power supply (e.g. 1spot), but you will need the “Diago” isolator adaptor.
