The Gibson Songwriter Studio 2018 features a sitka spruce top which produces a versatile sound that is able to accommodate numerous genres and techniques with ease; from lighter fingerpicking styles, to heavier more aggressive strumming patterns. In addition, its stunning sitka spruce top also yields a crisp and articulate tone with a broad dynamic range, and a focused, clear sound of deep lows, warm mid-range, and bright singing highs. Furthermore, the sonically-versatile top is accompanied by rosewood back and sides, which provides players with an incredibly balanced and versatile palette of tones. The rosewood back and sides also produce rich warmth with superb resonance and a subtle hint of bright sparkle, plenty of clarity and a powerful bass response.

Mahogany Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the Songwriter's neck offers a quick and dynamic response with plenty of warmth and resonance. Additionally, mahogany's nature enables it to respond superbly to many different playing styles, perfect for the player that likes to vary from picking techniques to meatier chord work. To provide a smooth and comfortable playing experience, the neck has a rounded profile, offering comfort within every position up and down the neck. Furthermore, the neck is also topped with a rosewood fingerboard which adds clarity and warmth to the overall sound. Lastly, its rosewood fingerboard provides the player with a smooth platform for an energetic performance while its split parallelogram inlays added elegance to its premium appearance.

Square Shoulder Dreadnought

The Gibson Songwriter Studio 2018 features a square shoulder dreadnought body which projects a voice that will reach the back of the room within most venues, offering superb acoustic projection whilst maintaining overall tonal balance. The square shoulder dreadnought has been in a debate with its round shoulder dreadnought cousin for years. The Gibson Songwriter Studio 2018 comes equipped with the popular VTC pickup from LR Baggs, which features a low-profile undersaddle pickup that's proven more stable and durable than many standard ribbon-type pickups. Combined with an unobtrusive and removable volume/tone control mounted just within the soundhole, the VTC and the Songwriter together provide the idyllic setup for the professional musician. Furthermore, the VTC features rotary controls for volume and tone, and is designed to project the rich sonic-character that you'd expect from a mic'd up performance in a studio environment.

Hand-Scalloped Advanced X-Bracing
