Included are a collection of professional sounding plug-ins comprised of Softube's world-class Time and Tone Pack, with SAR-1R Reverb, Tube Delay and Saturation Knob. This is complemented by the Red 2 & Red 3 AAX, AU & VST plug-in suite which accurately models Focusrite’s classic Red range hardware equalizer and compressor. The Scarlett 18i20 has a total of 18 inputs and 20 outputs. The eight Focusrite microphone preamps have switchable phantom power, and these inputs are fitted with combination XLR/jack sockets. Connections for channels 1 and 2 are on the front panel and offer additional Hi-Z instrument modes and a switchable 10dB pad. An additional eight channels of digital I/O (four channels at 88.2/96kHz) are provided via ADAT lightpipe, plus S/PDIF provides an extra stereo digital input and output. Dual independent headphone outputs mean you can set up separate mixes for the engineer and the artist, and you get comprehensive control of your studio monitors via the dedicated monitor section.
The included software suite includes Ableton Live Lite music production software, allowing you to record audio and MIDI, and run VST audio instruments and effects. Compressor, reverb, gate and EQ processors are included in the Focusrite Scarlett plug-in bundle. Also included are Novation Bass Station soft synth and over 1GB of royalty-free Loopmasters samples.
