Faithful recreation of a classic

The Crave bases its design on a classic synthesizer from the late ‘80s boasting authentic analog circuitry based on the original VCO, VCF and VCA designs. The original inspired the sound of many a legendary artist including Dr. Dre, Radiohead, John Carpenter, Michael Jackson and more. The Behringer Crave brings a classic into the modern world whilst still retaining all the features that made the original so sought after. The onboard 32-step sequencer and arpeggiator make it easy to input and experiment with rhythms.

3340 voltage-controlled oscillator

At the heart of the Behringer Crave is the 3340 voltage controlled oscillator. This powerful oscillator provides you with two waveforms to choose from: pulse or reverse-sawtooth. The waveforms can be edited once selected by using the Shape switch and the tuning control. You can also blend between the internal VCO and the noise generator using the Mix control.

Classic 24dB ladder filter and envelope generator

Sculpt and shape your sounds with the classic-style 24ddB ladder filter. The ladder filter features its own dedicated controls for Cutoff frequency, Resonance and Modulation for dialling in parameters with precision. The filter mode switch allows you to toggle between Lo or Hi-pass settings, allowing you to set the range. The onboard envelope generator allows you to change the overall shape of your sound. The Attack, Decay and Sustain controls come complete with a Sustain On/Off switch. This allows you to sustain a note for as long as the key is held.
