The Audio Damage ADM11 puts exceptional high-quality studio-grade chorus into your Eurorack modular system. With two modes of operation that utilise the same CV inputs and control knobs, the Dimensions uses a mode based on the highly regarded Fluid chorus plug-in for Mode A. This uses a complex network of five modulated delays as well as four fixed delays.

The second mode (Mode B) pays homage to the module's famous namesake. However, it expands upon the vintage architecture and technology by providing a total of six modulated delays in combination with Audio Damage's knowledge and expertise. Each mode provides results that range from subtle sound enhancement and thickening, to huge and dense stereo ambient textures. The ADM11 Dimensions features true stereo processing, as well as the ability to switch between mono-in/mono-out, and mono-in/stereo-out modes.

Controls & I/Os

• CV Jacks: The CVs present at these jacks are added to the values set by the control knobs. Positive voltages have the same effect as rotating the corresponding knob clockwise, whilst negative voltages have the same effect as rotating the knob counter-clockwise. The influences of the knobs and their corresponding jacks are cumulative. For example, if you turn a knob all the way clockwise and apply -5V to the corresponding jack, you will hear the same thing as you would if you left the knob at its center position and didn't plug anything into the jack. The useful range of voltage for the CV jacks is +/-5V. Voltages outside of this range won't harm anything in the module
• Control Knobs:
  • RATE: Controls the speed of the modulation oscillators. Use slow rates to create wide stereo chorusing effects without an obvious modulation, and fast rates for a more 'processed' sound. At high settings of rate and depth, Dimensions can create strange pitch-modulation (vibrato) effects
  • DEPTH: Determines how much the delays within Dimensions are modulated. If this knob is rotated fully counter-clockwise, the delays are not modulated at all and Dimensions creates a static-sounding short-delay effect. As you rotate the knob clockwise, Dimensions comes to lise as the LFOs vary the lengths of its delays. The further you rotate this knob, the more the delays are changed. You will often find that the depth and rate knobs need to be adjusted together, since their individual influences are interdependent to some extent. For instance, you may find that decreasing the rate when you increase the depth produces a better overall sound
  • FEEDBACK: Causes some amount of Dimensions' processed signal to be fed back into its network of delays. Feedback is not a control commonly found on chorus effects, but Dimensions has one to increase its range of possibilities. Rotating the knob clockwise increases the amount of feedback signal. High settings can create something similar to a bunch of flangers running in parallel
  • MIX: Controls the relative amounts of the original, unprocessed (dry) signal and the processed 9 wet) signal at the output. Use this knob to control the overall amount of the chorusing effect. If the knob is rotated all the way to the left, you will only hear the dry signal. Rotated all the way to the right, and you'll hear just the processed signal. Often a setting near the central position is just about right
• Audio Inputs & Outputs: The audio goes in and out of these jacks. The hardware will be happiest if the input signal level is within +/-7V. For mono-in/mono-out use, plug cables into the LEFT/MONO input and output jacks. For mono-to-stereo processing, use the LEFT input and both output jacks. The Dimensions is at its best when both of its inputs and outputs are used, even if the two input signals are only slightly different
• MODE Switch: Selects one of two processing modes - A or B. Mode A uses the configuration from Audio Damage's Fluid chorus plug-in, and generally produces more dramatic effects than Mode B. Mode B excels as a subtle enhancement, adding breadth and movement without obscuring the original sound. As such, when using Mode B, turning up the knobs just a little from their fully counter-clockwise position may produce the best results. However, chorus effects depend very much upon the sound and the context, so it's always good to try both modes and a wide range of control settings
